How to do Oil Pulling
- This is the first thing to do in the morning, on an empty tummy before drinking or eating.
- Pour exactly one tablespoon of oil of your choice into your mouth. If you are wearing your dentures than it is necessary that you remove before you begin the swishing process.
- Now swish the oil around the mouth without swallowing it for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Constantly move it in your mouth through the teeth. Gently motion this entire process and do not put a lot of stress on the jaw muscles, relax and use your tongue to move the oil around the mouth.
- DO NOT swallow or gargle. You don't want the toxins trapped in the oil's mucous membrane.
- When the oil consistency becomes thinner. milky like and whitish in color, it is time to spit it out.
- Rinse your mouth with warm water or with warm salt water. You can brush your teeth, but don't use any tooth pate. Baking soda can be used if you are comfortable with it.
- If you spited it out in the sink, wash it thoroughly with soap. Best thing is to spit it in the toilet.
Follow this procedure throughout the week. In order to see any results or benefits of Oil Pulling, do it for at least 2 to 4 weeks. It is also important to take a break every week or two, due to the fact that Oil Pulling might also take out healthy vitamins and minerals. There is no hard and fast schedule to take breaks, just listen to your body signals and use your judgement. If you are still concerned please consult a physician.

Oil Pulling Side Effects
There is a concern for any side effect cause by Oil Pulling. As such there are no side effects, however some people may experience the general side effects that are caused by the Detoxification Process. These include soreness, headaches, cough, increase in mucus, sinus etc. Another side effect, if you want to call it that, is that some people might have allergies to certain oils. If the allergy is not known then the allergic reaction could be attributed to being a side effect of Oil Pulling.
As with any health procedure, please consult your doctor if your symptoms get worse.
I will give it a shot at Oil Pulling for 2 to 3 weeks and report back the results in a new article here. First I need to select the oil. I am leaning towards Organic Coconut Oil.
